TNQ Transport is a business-to-business road freight carrier operating within
100 km of Townsville (Garbutt). Please review this list before booking. Sending a prohibited item may result in
your booking being cancelled, the goods being refused or returned at your cost, and referral to the relevant authority.

Prohibited Not accepted under any circumstances
Cash & negotiable items
- Cash, currency, coins or banknotes
- Cheques, money orders, vouchers, gift cards
- Any negotiable instruments
Dangerous Goods — TNQ Transport carries NO Dangerous Goods
We are not a Dangerous Goods carrier. Anything classified under the
Australian Dangerous Goods (ADG) Code, edition 7.9 is not accepted, including:
- Class 1 — explosives (ammunition, fireworks, flares, detonators, gunpowder, pyrotechnics)
- Class 2 — gases and aerosols (flammable, toxic or compressed gas)
- Class 3 — flammable liquids (fuels, solvents, many paints)
- Class 4 — flammable solids and substances liable to spontaneous combustion
- Class 5 — oxidisers and organic peroxides
- Class 6.1 / 6.2 — toxic and infectious substances (clinical/medical waste, used needles, pathogens, diagnostic specimens)
- Class 7 — radioactive materials
- Class 8 — corrosives (acids, alkalis)
- Class 9 — miscellaneous dangerous goods, including lithium-ion / lithium-metal batteries

Temperature-controlled, perishable & living goods
- Chilled, frozen or refrigerated goods; seafood, meat, dairy, perishable food
- Live animals and livestock; plants requiring refrigeration
- Human remains in any form; medical, biological or diagnostic samples
- Animal products, skins, fur, ivory, or any endangered-species product
We do not operate temperature-controlled transport.
Valuables, weapons & controlled goods
- Precious metals, bullion, gold, silver, platinum; precious or semi-precious stones
- Rare, unique or irreplaceable items
- Firearms, weapons or weapon components
- Illegal drugs, narcotics or controlled substances
Household removals & personal effects
- Household removals (residence-to-residence moves)
- Personal effects and household goods
TNQ Transport is a commercial freight service and does not carry out household removals.
Restricted Accepted only on conditions
These items are accepted, but if the conditions aren't met your shipment may be delayed, refused, or
made ineligible for a cover claim.
Fragile & glass
Accepted when packaged to withstand normal road-freight handling. Inadequately packaged fragile goods are
carried at owner's risk and are excluded from cover (see below).
Alcohol
Accepted when securely packaged and correctly declared, and subject to applicable licensing requirements.
Plants, seeds & agricultural goods
May be subject to Queensland biosecurity requirements (Biosecurity Act 2014 (Qld)).
Acceptance is at our discretion and the customer is responsible for any permits.
Tobacco & vaping products
By prior written arrangement only, and subject to applicable state and federal regulations.
High-value goods & oversize / overweight loads
Goods worth more than the included $3,000 cover should have their value declared at booking
(uplift applies). Loads over 6 pallets or 5 tonnes, or any leg over 100 km
from Townsville, need a manual quote — please contact us.
Cargo cover What's included
- $3,000 cargo cover is included free on every consignment, subject to our policy in force.
- Declare a higher value at booking and we add an uplift of 1.5% of the amount above $3,000
(self-serve up to $20,000; above that, contact us).
- Cover is for direct loss of, or physical damage to, the goods where we are at fault.
- How value is assessed: the cost price of the goods (supplier invoice); where there is no invoice,
65% of the retail/sales value; for used or second-hand goods, the depreciated market value.
GST and freight charges are excluded from any amount payable.
Not covered Excluded from cover even if carried
- Prohibited goods (above) — carried, if at all, entirely at owner's risk.
- Goods of subjective or unverifiable value — antiques, collectables, memorabilia, one-of-a-kind items;
works of art; rare or irreplaceable items; used/second-hand goods where prior condition can't be objectively verified;
goods without a commercial invoice or documented replacement value.
- Personal effects and household goods.
- Insufficient packaging — goods not packed to withstand ordinary transit (especially liquids, glass and fragile items).
- Pre-existing condition / inherent vice — damage that pre-dated carriage, ordinary wear, leakage, or defect in the goods.
- Indirect & consequential loss — delay, missed delivery slots, loss of market value, loss of profit or contract.
Making a claim
- Visible damage / shortage: note it on the proof of delivery at delivery.
- Concealed damage: notify us in writing within 14 days of delivery.
- Non-delivery: notify us in writing within 30 days of the scheduled delivery date.
- Particulars (photos, repair quote or replacement invoice, purchase documentation): within 60 days of delivery.
- Legal proceedings: within 12 months of when the loss was, or ought to have been, discovered.
Only the party who booked and paid for the consignment may lodge a claim. Capture photos of the
packaging, the goods and the label as soon as damage is found. Claims are assessed under our Terms of Carriage and,
where applicable, the Australian Consumer Law (your statutory rights are not affected by this page).
